From New York to New Orleans, Drama Club to the big screen, my interview with filmmaker Angela Tucker

Angela Tucker is inspiring. I loved hearing how she built her career as a filmmaker, writing, directing and teaching. We met in Drama Club at Chapin in New York City many years ago, so it was great to re-connect virtually for this episode. Angela tells me about her latest project, the film series “The Trees Remember in collaboration with REI Co-op Studios: https://www.rei.com/blog/the-trees-remember-film-series

I love how this series spans across 60 years, and features compelling and sometimes humorous stories featuring Black women across different ages  in the outdoors. In so much of her work, Angela managers to tackle serious with levity and grace. Creating this series amid the pandemic (see photo) was quite a feat.
I also loved hearing how Angela has made New Orleans her home. I hope you enjoy it too.
